Released in 2020, the Echo (4th gen) features a new spherical design. The smart speaker has Alexa built-in to make your life at home easier. With Alexa, you can quickly find answers to questions, listen to the news and weather, and set timers just by using your voice. The new Echo includes an extra speaker that helps create a richer and more detailed sound, while the integrated smart home hub lets you control compatible Zigbee and Matter smart devices in your home.
Alexa Privacy Protection
If you’re concerned about your privacy, you’ll be glad to know there are many layers of privacy protection built into Echo devices. First, a wake word is used to activate Alexa. So, unless Alexa detects that word, it won’t be recording your conversations. Second, all devices have a Microphone Off button that disconnects the microphone electronically. Finally, you can delete any voice recordings by asking Alexa or by using the Alexa app. For further information about Alexa’s privacy features, click on this link.
